As I said, I think it might be a bug having to do with power settings. I left it on for an hour tonight and it didn't crash, so I'm hoping this is what the issue was. However, 2 hours later after I installed drivers then left, I came back and it froze. What do I make of this? If the BIOS is set to 1st boot device, and the burn was good, it should be booting from the optical drive.
